Air & Sea Freight Operator

The Role

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating Import/Export shipments from start to finish choosing the best routes and modes for each job.
  • Working with customers and carriers negotiating rates to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Preparing, creating and executing correctly completed documents relating to export consignments.
  • Attending and responding to all relevant received e-mails, telephone calls, messages and other media in relation to daily operational matters.
  • Monitoring and reporting on all export consignments within designated destinations.
  • Ensuring completion of all consignment tasks from receipt of booking, organising national and international transportation, formally documenting and accounting upholding JJX’s strong reputation for customer care.
  • Be aware and practice, cost effective, profitable, economical structures and methods of shipment.
  • To help promote the aerospace product and provide very high customer service levels.
  • To provide support to the general export team where required.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in an air or sea focused freight operations role.
  • Understand international customs clearance procedures and paperwork.
  • Be self-motivated with a pro-active problem solving capability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of IATA and/or IMDG regulations for the handling of dangerous goods is desires but not essential, all training will be provided to the successful candidate.
