NEW DATE: Black Country Business Festival – Creating a mentally healthy workplace

21 September 2020 by Edward Martin

As part of the Black Country Business Festival, we are holding an event in partnership with Dudley Mind, creating a mentally healthy workplace. After it being postponed in May, we now have a new date Wednesday 7th October.

Mentally Healthy Workplace

Since our event was postponed the Time to Change campaign has come to an end. However, Sandra, Chief Executive from Dudley Mind, will be leading the event.

Our relaxed lunchtime event will provide local employers with the understanding and actions they need to proactively create a mentally healthy workplace. Sandra is highly experienced in helping individuals with their mental health troubles and also provides mental health first aid training.

Mental health problems affect every employer, regardless of size or sector. This event will provide delegates with an understanding of how they can create and use an action plan as a framework to create a mentally healthy workplace.

Mental health problems are the leading cause of sickness absence in the UK and affect every organisation regardless of size or sector, costing UK businesses almost £35 billion per year.

Attendees will gain a clear understanding of mental health in the workplace. This means they can create a personalised action plan to promote and enable better mental health within their own organisation.

Sandra will also discuss how Dudley Mind as a charity can help businesses and how you could become more aware of mental health illnesses and respond accordingly.

Location in discussion. Possibly looking at turning this into a virtual event. Stay tuned.
