Although the weather looked bleak, everyone arrived to Bewdley Pines Golf Club in good spirits ready for the day ahead. Players grabbed a tea or coffee before play, and a few managed to sneak in a fry up.
Players headed off to put on their waterproofs ready to battle mother nature. Some players hit the practice nets to warm up, while others dived straight in and had a go at the putting competition. Six holes were set up to test the players skills, with 10 being the winning score.
Now the players were ready to tee off. The rain held off for a moment or two for most people to tee off in the dry. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t work out as hoped. Cold and wet, the players managed to get around to the 9th hole in good time with another competition to enter. This time, it was a bet. Players bet £2 that they would hit in the green in one shot, with the chance of doubling their money. Sadly, for them, but good for us, no one won the bet! So, all the money went into the pot for Black Country Mental Health.
The next hole presented them with a long drive challenge where the furthest shot would win a bottle of wine. After spending a few hours out on the course, the players started finishing their round. Coming to the 18th hole where there was a nearest the pin challenge waiting for them.
Now the players were finished they could sit down, relax, have a drink and enjoy the steak and ale pie which was kindly sponsored by Clamason Industries.
After talks from Clamason Industries, ourselves and Sandra at Black Country Mental Health we commenced the presentation.
